We brought MINT users together from across the world to hear from our product experts, share their tips and feedback, learn best practices, network, and connect with the MINT team face-to-face. Every UCON event helps spark new ideas and innovative ways to improve your training operations while sharing your feedback for a better MINT TMS. We appreciate everyone who traveled to this year’s user conference in Orlando, Florida. Did you miss UCON? See the highlights below!
Welcome and Keynote
Presented by:
Joerg Latteier, Chief Executive Officer
Nick Denton, Chief Customer Officer
Christian Popp, PhD, President of MINT Americas and Chief Strategy Officer
UCON’s opening day began with a welcome address from leadership, highlighting where MINT TMS stands today, recent milestones, and future priorities. Next was our keynote, where Popp gave an insightful talk about MINT’s stance on artificial intelligence: It can improve outcomes if led by humans, but shouldn’t replace human-led critical thinking. He made it clear that artificial intelligence is not perfect, and MINT does not allow room for error when it comes to compliance and training management. With talk about AI taking jobs and replacing humans, Popp expressed that AI should be human-led in a synergistic way to help us expedite mundane tasks, not as a replacement for strategic, critical thinking.
Development and Product Roadmaps for the Future of MINT
Presented by:
Sebastian Gebhardt, Head of Development
TJ Rolland, Product Manager
Attendees experienced a colorful display of art and music during Gebhardt’s storybook-themed development presentation, featuring characters representing the technologies powering MINT’s TMS framework. It transformed a highly technical explanation of MINT’s latest upgrades into an easy-to-understand presentation that gave users a clear idea of what to expect in version 2025: better, faster performance in MINT TMS!
For the MINT roadmap, Rolland gave a behind-the-scenes look at our product vision around three areas of focus: speed, security, and simplicity. Rolland introduced a new roadmap document to help customers understand changes for each version release. He also outlined what’s coming in the future and how user feedback helps MINT continue releasing new features to make your life easier.
Customer Presentations Gave Us New Ideas
One of the favorite parts of UCON are the customer presentations, where attendees hear from MINT Super Users about real-life use cases, implementation tips, efficiency tricks, and new ways to use or manage MINT. A common theme we saw was speakers sharing what worked, what didn’t, and solutions to achieve better outcomes.
We enjoyed hearing from this year’s speakers:
- MINT TMS Unleashed: APIs, Automation, and the Art of the Possible by Antti Toivanen, Finnair
- How to Fail at TMS? (And Live to Tell the Tale) by Dave Butler, Air Canada
- Designing Outside of the Box by Nicholas Allen of PlaneSense/Atlas
- Setup, Submission, and Strategy: An FAA-Recognized Approach to AQP Data with MINT by Avinash Kongala, CommuteAir
- The One OE Form to Rule Them All by Chuck Hert, Hawaiian Airlines
- Instructor Bidding in MINT by Donald Eastlake, Spirit Airlines
- Leading Change through Centralization & Standardization in MINT TMS by Holly Conway, Jet2
- MINT: Navigating a World of Possibilities by Michael Swartz, Piedmont
- Bidirectional MINT – GEMS Interface by Annette de Witt, Lufthansa Technical Training
We thank every speaker for sharing these insights with us at UCON and for their time. Did you want to see a specific slide from your favorite talk? Download the customer presentations here.
We Heard From Users During Kiosk and Feedback Sessions
Attendees received one-on-one time with MINT experts during the kiosk session, allowing them to visit the feature station of their choice to discuss topics ranging from scheduling to qualifications, forms, version 2025, and even security. This session allowed for more intimate conversations regarding product functionality or drilling down into unique use-case scenarios, helping users solve specific operational challenges.
A cornerstone of UCON is learning how we can improve our solution and user conferences. To hear directly from MINT users, attendees were divided into groups to discuss what features they wanted to see in MINT TMS and UCON. Feedback was presented at the end, allowing attendees to vocalize their requests to MINT’s leadership and team members. We appreciate your participation in these sessions, as it helps us plan for future improvements!
Connecting Through Networking
Our poolside welcome reception on the first night allowed everyone to say hello over drinks and tapas. Tuesday night, we headed to Cafe Tu Tu Tango for great food, drinks, and conversations! Throughout the conference, we made sure attendees could connect over coffee breaks and get to know others in the industry within their field of expertise.
Training Workshops for All Levels of Users
At the heart of UCON are our training workshops. Thursday and Friday were full days of training, with beginner and advanced sessions to help users improve their skills and understanding of best practices for using MINT TMS.
Advanced sessions dove deeper into complex topics within MINT TMS capabilities, while hands-on business-scenario setup sessions gave users real-world practice with data integrations, scheduling scenarios, and report configuration. For new customers or users learning the system, the beginner workshops allowed attendees to gain more in-depth knowledge, ask questions, and meet the MINT team members they communicate with throughout the year.
That’s a Wrap!
UCON 2025 proved to be an invaluable gathering for MINT users, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing while showcasing the latest innovations within MINT TMS. We look forward to implementing your feedback and seeing everyone at future events!
